A Brief Overview
Jamie started her school experience early in home daycare. Her mother took over a family friend's home daycare business before Jamie was age 3. The home daycare business continued to operate out of the family's first floor until Jamie reached the age 18.
She attended a local private preschool, followed by a public elementary school. Approximately 2 months into her 5th grade school year, Jamie's mom un-enrolled her from the public school system and homeschooled Jamie for the remainder of the academic year. For middle school, she attended class at the Chicago Waldorf School, which teaches a curriculum based on anthropology and was founded in Germany by Rudolf Steiner.
When it came time to attend high school, Jamie was facing adversity on both home and personal fronts, and in addition to the general emotional struggle that tends to accompany puberty. Jamie attended 4 (very) different schools before earning her high school diploma in June 2004. [See the High School page for more information]
Jamie has attended various college courses sporadically since Summer of 2005 [refer to the College page for details]. She has had many aspirations as to what her choice career might be, including elementary school teacher, pastry chef, early childhood education professional, childrens' storybook writer, model, cosmetologist, business woman, graphic designer, photographer, psychologist, journalist, and more. Currently, Jamie practices jewelry design and is available for freelance project management, but does not have any specific plans to return to school.
